Hey everyone!

We are down to the last days of the Venture Party Kickstarter. We have a solid foundation that has proven time and again to be simple and fun with new players!

Even though we won't likely hit our goal, we have learned much about timing, preparation, and marketing over the course of our first Kickstarter campaign. We will reevaluate our funding goal, as well as shipping costs to make it more accessible to fans next time. This experience will only benefit the game as we push forward into the future!

The Party Is Just Beginning!

Gather your friends to spread the word as we regroup to prep Venture Party for what's next! Feel free to keep in touch, lend us your thoughts, and follow along with the game's FacebookTwitterInstagram, and campaign page. We would love to have you along for the journey!

Thanks to all of you that have backed the project. You're support has sparked a fire in our hearts and only insured that this game will go on! As creators and players, we at FoxKamp Inc love Venture Party and will make it possible for all of you to experience the fun for yourselves.

Safe Travels and New Beginnings,
FoxKamp Inc

Hey there gals and pals Venture Party is making some sweet cool moves and we need help from our friends, family and fans to kick down the door of opportunity and show it whose boss! We have started a Kickstarter project page to help create this fun simple card game that will be the staple to any game night event. Don't get left behind, join the party by supporting our project and become a backer for one of the most creative fantasy themed card games of the year. Show some support and give us all your LOOT... for a preorder that is.

Venture Party is a fun and simple, 3-7 player, hand management game. Fantasy themes and RPG tropes are turned on their heads in this game full of clumsy and unfortunate heroes. The land is ripe with opportunity, and only one Venture Party will come out on top. Will it be yours? Support and share our new venture today!

Hey guys! It's been a while, but I have some news to share! A few months ago I gave a few presentations to 6th Graders at Seaford Middle School about the Life of Lydie: Cancel My Bully Subscription comic! I shared my own history of being bullied as a kid, as well as how I am using this comic book to turn a negative experience into a positive one. The students were engaged in the conversation, and had many questions of their own revolving around bullying and creating comic books. The school was so satisfied that they bought 200 books to give out to the entire 6th grade class! I'm hoping that I can continue to make an impact with more students and schools in the future!

Alongside of that, I've been working on Venture Party, a tabletop card game I’ve been working on with a friend! The game has many heroes with varying effects within the deck. The goal is to try to end the game with the strongest party by utilizing all the skills of your disposable heroes. We are currently play testing the game, and it's fun to watch people manage their party and try to deduce what other players have in a humorous, fantasy setting!

More info and art on the way! If you would like to see more, head on over to the Facebook page www.facebook.com/VentureParty/….

Hey guys! I know I haven't been too clear about when Life of Lydie: Cancel my Bully Subscription will come out, but that's because technically it's been done for a really long time! I have several copies printed, and would love nothing more than to have it be available enough for people to find. Since it is not really a web comic, the only way to get the book is to purchase it directly through me. This can be pretty difficult because I do not have a specific store set up on the internet for people to purchase it. I'm exploring methods of distribution (kindle, comiXology), so if you guys have any suggestions I am open to them.

In the mean time, there is some good news for the series. I've been making connections with many PTA's, Schools, and other groups to try and spread the word. After speaking with the Anti-Bully Task Force, and the Anti-Bully Club at Garden City Middle School, they decided to buy a few classroom sets of the book. Also, next Friday I have a meeting with the Anti-Bias Consortium where I have to give AN HOUR LONG presentation. They will be buying 30 copies of the book to raffle off to a lucky winner in the audience. It's nerve racking and exciting all at once, and I hope that I can do the series justice!

One final bit of information to leave with all of you. I'm in the process of thumbnail sketching the 3rd book in the series. So expect to hear more on that next year. It will put Lydie in the position of an Upstander where she will have to figure out how to help someone else who is being bullied.

Introducing the Life of Lydie comic series website!

Life of Lydie is a comic book series about a girl entering middle school named Lydie. The first few books raise awareness of bullying while empowering children in school who are faced with mistreatment. The goal is to encourage friendship, cooperation, and confidence to create a better social environment.

Comics are a great way to communicate ideas and tell stories. Children from a young age are drawn to visual story-telling, and many of the characters become role models to try and live up to. So why not take advantage of that to talk about anti-bullying? There aren’t enough comics that touch on the subject in depth, so Life of Lydie aspires to help fill that void.

The newest book, Life of Lydie: Cancel my Bully Subscription, will be revealed in 2015.

Don’t want to wait for the new book? Well you are in luck! The first issue from 2012, Life of Lydie: Bully Blues, is available right now on the comics page for FREE. That’s right, no charge. Stay tuned for more information!

Life is pretty busy recently. Interning at an illustration rep in the city, working full time at a non-art job, and various other daily tasks make it very difficult to restructure my portfolio. I wish more hours could be squeezed into every day just to have time for everything :P

As an artist it is important to put yourself out there, so I designed and uploaded my Portfolio web site. It contains some of my illustrations, design work from school, and Life of Lydie comic pages.

On a side note, I attended New York Comic-con this passed weekend. Despite having a pretty bad cold, I had an amazing time walking around with my friends. I was very happy to get my Mega Man 2 story arc comics signed by artist Patrick Spaziante and writer Ian Flynn, and also attending the Archie Comics panel to hear about the Sonic and Mega Man crossover that is happening next year. It's going to be big, and I cannot wait to get my hands on it!

Although I had an amazingly fun Summer since my graduation, I should start getting back into the swing of things. I'm going to start looking for graphic design jobs (preferably illustration jobs), and try to grow as an artist with new projects. Just posting so people know I'm not dead haha.

The comic is done, the Senior Exhibition was a great success, and I am finally a College Graduate!

Life of Lydie had a pretty good turn out, and a lot of people were happy with my presentation (especially the give away items). Along with the comic itself, invitations, business cards, stickers, buttons, a poster, t-shirt, and a 4ft standee were on display. I am uploading some of the pages here on Deviantart, and I'm thinking about continuing the story at some point. If you guys have any feedback then I am open to it.

I also submitted my resume and portfolio to the Deviantart Emerging Artists San Diego Comic Con scholarship. I know that I have a lot to learn, but it doesn't hurt to enter :)

"Life of Lydie" is a comic that will be created about a girl in middle school named Lydie. She is a bit shy, but she tries to be friendly to every one she meets.  She will learn to overcome situations involving bullying through her experiences on the bus, in class, and other environments.

I will be posting my progress within the coming weeks in the form of concept sketches, comps, and sample pages. Although I have never made a comic book before, I am hopeful that my illustrations and storytelling will entertain people.

Feel free to let me know what you guys think.

I am going to make a Comic Book for my college Senior Project!

This will be my first attempt at making a comic book, so I already know that there will be plenty of difficulty. I only have a few months to write it, create it, find ways to promote it, and then present it! Despite all of the work, I am really motivated to take my first step into this process. A lot of my progress will be documented on my Blog, so if any of you are interested in seeing my progress over the next few months please visit here.

Some Blog posts are required for school, so if you want to look at my Sketches, Concepts or Inspirations, look for those Links on the sidebar.

If you like what you see and have some feedback, then I am willing to hear it.

Sorry I haven't updated in a while. I only have about 2 weeks left to the semester, so I've been pretty busy trying to finish final projects. I'm also currently working on a portfolio website for myself. It is nothing too flashy, but I like it so far. I will try to have something to post once Winter Break arrives.

Talk to you soon guys!

Oh man New York Comic-Con was great!

Tue Oct 18, 2011, 4:36 PM
Granted I was only able to go on Sunday, but I had such a fun time! I arrived with my trusty Sonic the Hedgehog Hat and went straight for the Archie Comics panel. They gave away free comics, talked about future issues, and let us ask questions at the end. I was very happy to meet long time Sonic comic artist Patrick Spaziante, as well as the writer Ian Flynn at the Panel (they also signed a few of my issues OH BOY)!

After the Archie panel I looked around at some of the comic artists that were grouped together creating some artwork. I wanted to watch some more so I can see how people work in the field, but there was a lot of things to fit in my schedule since I only went on Sunday.

I was also able to take part in a march to the Capcom booth with the 100,000 Strong Megaman Legends 3 fans. We cornered Capcom rep Seth Killian and he  talked to us for a little while. We handed him a taped together book that had Legends fan stories about how excited they were when they heard Megaman Legends 3 was announced. We sang, did the "Data dance", and had an all around good time :P

Other than that I got to try Zelda Skyward Sword, Mario Kart 7, Resident Evil Revelations, and SONIC GENERATIONS on both 360 and 3DS!!!! City Escape was amazingly fun and I cannot wait for the finished product next month.

I had an incredible time at Comic-con and I can't wait to go again next year!

I can't wait to go and check out everything at Comic-con. Last year was the first time that I experienced it, and I was not disappointed!.... Well besides the fact that I was like 1 minute late to get an autograph with Keiji Inafune, but what can I do...

I wish that I had some material to present to some comic book publishers, but I haven't created any comics yet. It would be great to see what they think of my art or if they have any pro tips on how I can improve. Maybe next year I will have something to show off.

On a side note, if anyone has commission requests I am up for it. I'm thinking this is how it will go for right now:
Rough Sketches: $5
Cleaner Pencils: $15
Basic Line art with Marker Highlights: $25
Clean Inked Art: $40

I know that I didn't cover everything, but this is just the general idea. The rest can be talked over depending on style and complexity of the project. Examples of Sketches, Pencils, Inks, and Markers can be found in my gallery.

Thank you for all of the comments and favorites last week. They are all greatly appreciated.

I have never done a Commission before, but it is something I want to try. I don't know exactly what goes into the whole process (such as pricing, mailing etc.), but I think making artwork that people request sounds fun.

Although I am not accepting them right now, I am interested in drawing Sketches, full Character drawings, Face Shots, and small comic strip scenes if you have a story/script.

If anyone is interested, or has any helpful information about the process then I would greatly appreciate it. Take it easy!

Visiting my girlfriend in Virginia was very enjoyable. The trip was a lot of fun, as well as very relaxing. But now I am back and school is starting up again in 2 weeks. I better try to get some fun drawings uploaded before I get overrun with Graphic Design projects.

Tomorrow morning I am driving down to Virginia to visit my girlfriend for a week. Long distance relationships can sure test your patience, but I wouldn't do it for these past few years if I didn't care about her. It is going to be a blast and I cannot wait to see her (even if I do not do much artwork).

I hope you all have a wonderful week as well!

Probably my favorite thing to draw in my sketchbook is a variety of faces all with different expressions. Since I am comfortable doing that, I find it hard to break away and try some new things. The 2 most recent sketch pages that I uploaded demonstrate that habit I have.
I want to practice more anatomical poses, backgrounds, landscapes, color etc. so that I can become a well rounded illustrator.

Although I have never experimented with it before, I would also like to try my hand at creating stories that I can later illustrate in the form of a Comic Book. I know that all I have to do is just practice creative writing to be able to develop this skill over time, but I am not sure where to begin. Or perhaps I am afraid that I might write something horrible. I can't let that stop me though.

I just gotta take it one step at a time and stay motivated!
